My life is busy, just like yours. I worked full-time, had two children and a husband to take care of, handled the finances, took care of the house, and made sure everyone had everything they needed. I didn't really make time for taking care of myself, it just wasn't a priority. I had been struggling with weight since I was 12 years old, and the roller coaster followed me into adulthood.
Then I was diagnosed with cancer. I was lucky that it was caught early and I am a survivor. But it was a real wake up call for me... if I didn't start taking care of myself, nobody would. I knew I had to change my lifestyle and get moving.
I've never been a gym person. I don't like the competition and the judgement (yes, even in the "judgement-free zone"), and I get bored with repetition really quickly. Driving home from work one day I saw a billboard that advertised dance fitness classes in my neighborhood. I didn't really want to do it (you know what I'm talking about, don't you?), but I made myself give it a try. It sounds cliche, but Zumba really did change my life (and my body!). The energy is contagious, and the HEART had me hooked. Unlike any other exercise program, it makes you happy! It truly became the best hour of my day.
I've always loved dance and choreographing to different rhythms, and now I have an outlet for my creativity! I knew that I had to become an instructor, and to share my love and passion with others, so 505 Dance Fit was born.
Let's take the journey together! It's more fun that way.
